The Mission Structure for the Recovery of Pending Processes at AIMA (EMAIMA) has initiated measures aimed at modernizing and streamlining the renewal process for the CPLP Residence Authorization.
What’s New?
- Email Notifications:
Starting on February 14, CPLP Residence Authorization holders will receive an email containing all the necessary instructions to update their data and proceed with the renewal process. - Credential Update:
Upon receiving the notification, citizens should access the platform services.aima.gov.pt and select the “Renew AR CPLP” option to revalidate their credentials. - Request for the Unique Billing Document (DUC):
Once the account is updated, it will be necessary to request the DUC for fee payment. This payment must be made within the next 10 business days to ensure the continuity of the process. - Appointment Scheduling for In-Person Service and Biometric Data Collection:
After the account validation and payment confirmation, applicants will receive a proposal for an appointment for in-person service and biometric data collection, ensuring a quick and organized transition to the new residence title model. - New Appointment Scheduling Form:
On February 19, a new form was made available for scheduling the granting of CPLP Residence Authorization. This form is especially intended for citizens holding a visa without a specified appointment date. Simply visit contactenos.aima.gov.pt fill in the passport and visa details correctly, and attach copies as requested.

These measures are part of AIMA’s ongoing efforts to regularize pending processes and improve services for CPLP citizens. With the modernization of the process, not only are bureaucratic procedures streamlined, but greater security and transparency in issuing residence documents are also ensured.
