👤 Who can apply?

📍 Where and when to apply?

  • The application must be made at Portuguese consular posts or at VFS Global with jurisdiction in the applicant's country of residence;

  • After entering Portugal, a residence permit must be requested from AIMA (Agency for Immigration and Mobility).


📑 Required documentation

Personal documents:

  • Completed visa application form;

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months after the expected return date ;

  • Two recent passport-sized photographs;

  • Valid travel insurance covering medical expenses, emergency assistance, and repatriation;

  • Criminal record certificate from the country of origin or residence for more than 1 year;

  • Application for consultation of the Portuguese criminal record by AIMA;

  • Declaration from the competent authority attesting to the requirements for practicing the profession in Portugal, when applicable.

  • A statement indicating that an investment transaction has been carried out or is intended to be carried out in Portugal, detailing its nature, value and duration;

  • Proof of investment transactions carried out or available financial resources, including those from Portuguese financial institutions;

  • Formal intention to make an investment, duly described and identified.

  • Residence visa fee: €110 (subject to exchange rate fluctuations);

  • Processing time: approximately 60 days ;

  • The process comprises two stages :

    1. Initial submission of documentation at the Consulate or VFS;

    2. Second stage together with AIMA, in Portugal.

  • Main applicant: approximately €870/month ;

  • Each dependent adult: €435/month ;

  • Per child: €261/month .
